Over the past six months, I've been seriously considering buying or leasing a new vehicle. Ask any of my coworkers; my 2001 Nissan Altima looks and sounds as if it could fall apart at any given moment. But I refuse to make such a huge decision (and purchase) without properly educating myself.
As I've begun to learn more about cars, trucks, and SUVs, I'm also becoming more interested in vehicles in general. That's why I wish I could attend the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) trade show this week in Las Vegas, Nevada. The SEMA trade fair, according to The Detroit News, "has evolved to serve as a showcase for design projects by automakers."
Ford Motor Co., for example, will not only be displaying "seven Focus models with cosmetic makeovers by outside companies as well as hopped-up Fiestas, Explorers and F-Series pickups," but also unpainted body shells that can be transformed into 1960s Mustangs. Sounds pretty cool, right?
So while the trade show doesn't necessarily focus on new car models, it does feature automobile industry promotional products that provide unique vehicle modifications. The companies behind the alterations are going to shine over the next week in Las Vegas. This is exciting news for car-lovers all over!
