Many of the tradeshows discussed involve fashion in some sense. But many fashion shows showcase clothes that can be extremely costly, are not suitable for everyday use and tend to be aimed at older audiences.

Here comes Agenda: NYC and Agenda: CA to the rescue. These trade shows brings out over 100 different brands that are intended for younger people. These brands include Ashbury, Levi's, Vans, Skullcandy, Obey, DC Shoes and many others. The hope is to bring these independently-founded brands more exposure to an audience that is passionate about these and other brands.

If you are interested in seeing the newest stylings in promotional apparel, be sure to register on the Agenda website. Agenda: CA is January 4 & January 5 at the Long Beach Convention Center while Agenda: NYC takes place later in the month (January 23 & January 24) at 82 Mercer Street.

American Film Market and Conferences

If you have a love for cinema, then you may want to take a trip out to California. But before you move out west to become an aspiring actor/actress, be sure to check out the American Film Market & Conferences

Taking place on a beautiful campus overlooking the water in Santa Monica, California, the American Film Market and Conferences will feature buyers and investors of the arts. Additionally, there will be special industry events, discussions and many other ways to get your name out there. The festivals' best selling point is that it is exactly 6 months after the Cannes film festival - allowing those in attendance to not be distracted and to be "ready for business." With better weather than Cannes and a more centralized location, there's very few reasons not to attend the festival.

So be sure to bring your promotional products and get ready to meet the film industry's best of the best.

Transit

Transit isn't the name of a mass-transportation telecommunication meeting of the minds or an aviation industry tradeshow. Instead, fans of America's Next Top Model and Project Runway will be the ones flocking to Transit.

Transit is a mid-week celebration of the trendy shoe. Deemed "...LA's only dedicated footwear trade event..." it is Transit that is the West Coast equivalent to heavily influential east coast shows like Accessories Circuit and the women's equivalent of MRKET - both taking place this year at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City.

Shoes are a women's best friend and seeing as Los Angeles is a major fashion-forward city in the USA, this tradeshow is bound to be visited by locals and international travelers alike, looking for the hottest fashions to come out during the holiday season and even for a sneak-peek into what may be expected for early 2013.

Although the show takes place in just over two weeks, registration is still open and an opportunity to build up your tradeshow booth is still within reach. Simply visit the Motivators website and purchase a custom imprinted Tradeshow Package

So be sure to be in the LA area between August 6 and August 8. More information can be found on the Transit official website.

LA Set to Host Massive Travel Industry Show

The city of Los Angeles, California is no stranger to tourism.  There the industry is already booming, and it might soon expand even further.

LA will host the U.S. Travel Association's International Pow Wow convention this April, during which the city's best hotels, top restaurants, and most intriguing cultural attractions will be on display.  After all is said and done, over 1,500 travel business operators will have passed through, collecting promotional products for tourism and helping the city to rake in an easy $10 million.  But what's even more exciting is the impact the trade show will affect Los Angeles' economy in the years to come.

According to the Los Angeles Times, "the show could generate an additional $350 million in the next two to four years from the national and international tourists it will draw to the city."

Mark Liberman, Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board president and chief executive, told eTravelBlackboard that the last time Pow Wow took place in LA was in 2004, and since then so much has changed. "...[W]e are anxious to showcase the outstanding new products that our City has to offer, while generating future revenue," Liberman said.

With Pow Wow, Los Angeles hopes to show off its new and improved look. "If you haven’t seen L.A. recently, you haven’t seen L.A.," Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa stated in a recent video message.  Will you be attending the big show?

Natural Food: 'What's Old is New Again'

I couldn't be more excited about the fact that natural products are in again.  Gone are the days when mystery ingredients and fake sugars dominated store shelves.  The trend that's entering the natural products world?  "What's old is new again."

That's according to one reporter for the Miami Herald after attending the increasingly popular Natural Products Expo in Anaheim, California.

What were most popular at this year's show, which ran from March 8 - March 11, 2012, were foods and products your grandparents would remember.  Products on display ranged from organic promotional products produced by local farmers to natural sunscreen.

One stand-out item was Broo Craft Beer Shampoo.  That's right; one exhibitor showed off a natural shampoo that's made from not much more than a standard six pack.  The Miami Herald reports that the product was inspired by "women in the 1960s, including Jackie Kennedy, [who] rinsed their hair with beer."  It will be available in select Whole Foods stores this April.

Love wrapping up your day with a glass of Merlot? Does your perfect Sunday involve touring local wineries and vineyards? Is this one of your favorite episodes of I Love Lucy?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, chances are you love and appreciate good wine.
