It's impossible to make it to every trade show (there's literally one going on somewhere in the world every day), so your best bet is to attend the biggest and best. And now, thanks to the Trade Show News Network (TSNN), you can easily find the top trade shows for your industry!

Yesterday, TSNN officially released the 2012 Top 250 Trade Shows in the U.S. Let's take a look at the top five trade shows:

1. International CES

The Las Vegas, Nevada event had more than 3,000 exhibitors and 100,000+ attendees. Whoa! The trade show supports the $209 billion consumer electronics industry.

2. International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS)

This trade show takes place in Chicago, Illinois and saw almost as many attendees as CES in 2012. It's the biggest manufacturing technology show in the Western Hemisphere, and is a whopping six days long.

3. The January Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market

Retailers from every U.S. state and more than 80 countries around the world come together for the January Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market. Products featured include everything from home furnishings to fashion. The event is held in Atlanta, Georgia.

4. Pack Expo International

The packaging and processing industry is huge, so it's no surprise the Pack Expo International made TSNN's list of top 2012 trade shows. The show, which took place last October in Chicago, Illinois, had nearly 2,000 exhibitors in 2012.

5. The July Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market

Wow -- two Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Markets made the top five! That's pretty impressive.

Hit up these events and you're likely to go home with some truly great trade show giveaways.

Chicago Trade Show Sees Uptick in Attendance

September 11, 2012 15:51 by brandon

In June, unions in Chicago, Illinois struck a deal making it easier for trade shows to come to the Windy City. Since then, industry professionals knew they'd see an increase in expos and conventions. Now, months later, it appears to be already making a difference.

Attendance at Chicago's most popular trade fair, according to the Chicago Tribune, is up 4.4 percent from 2010. "The biennial International Manufacturing Technology Show, historically the city's largest trade show, is seeing a boost in attendance as it opened at McCormick Place Monday morning," the newspaper reports.

By Saturday, the last day of the event, attendance could break 100,000. Participation hasn't been that high since 1996.

According to the convention website, "Manufacturing industry professionals from all over the world attend IMTS to see more than 15,000 new machine tools, controls, computers, software, components, systems and processes that can improve their efficiency." Companies show off their products and services and likely handout technology trade show promos, as well.

Peter Eelman, an executive at the Association for Manufacturing Technology, the International Manufacturing Technology Show's sponsor, told the Chicago Tribune that the growth can at least in part be attributed to improvement in the manufacturing sector. "...We feel like there is pent-up demand that maybe is even waiting for this show to see what's new," Eelman said.

Transit

Transit isn't the name of a mass-transportation telecommunication meeting of the minds or an aviation industry tradeshow. Instead, fans of America's Next Top Model and Project Runway will be the ones flocking to Transit.

Transit is a mid-week celebration of the trendy shoe. Deemed "...LA's only dedicated footwear trade event..." it is Transit that is the West Coast equivalent to heavily influential east coast shows like Accessories Circuit and the women's equivalent of MRKET - both taking place this year at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City.

Shoes are a women's best friend and seeing as Los Angeles is a major fashion-forward city in the USA, this tradeshow is bound to be visited by locals and international travelers alike, looking for the hottest fashions to come out during the holiday season and even for a sneak-peek into what may be expected for early 2013.

Although the show takes place in just over two weeks, registration is still open and an opportunity to build up your tradeshow booth is still within reach. Simply visit the Motivators website and purchase a custom imprinted Tradeshow Package

So be sure to be in the LA area between August 6 and August 8. More information can be found on the Transit official website.

Ultrabooks & Windows 8 Steal the Show at Computex

June 5, 2012 15:56 by brandon

Today was the first day of Computex, the annual information technology show that takes place in Taipei, Taiwan.  First held in 1981, Computex has become one of the most expansive computer and technology shows in the world.  And this year's event is no exception; from ultrabooks to Windows 8, if it's important in the world of computers, it's at Computex.

Computex

According to Computex's official website, the show attracts over 36,000 international buyers each year.  Almost 2,000 exhibitors manning more than 5,000 booths vie for attendees' attention with promotional information technology products, latest technologies, and popular trends.

Mashable reports that some of the most stand-out products at this year's Computex are tablets; for example, Intel alone announced that "at least 20 more Intel-powered Windows 8 tablets are coming this year."  Windows 8 will be officially released later this year and will surely shake up the tablet market.

"Natural interaction" ultrabooks are also all the rage.  According to PC World, Intel asserts that ultrabooks are the "next big thing" -- look out for products "equipped with voice recognition, face tracking and touch features."  The development of screens, sensors and other technologies will allow for this "natural interaction" going forward.

Computex will continue through Saturday, June 9, and many more hot, new products are expected to be unveiled.  Is there any product or technology you're most looking forward to?

International Hotel, Motel and Restaurant Show

Go away for a weekend and you'll find yourself staying at a hotel or motel and going to several restaurants for your meals. So once the vacation is done and over, how do you remember the hotel or the restaurant you visited?

Promotional products

According to eHow, promotional products is one of the most powerful and effective ways to expand your name. In hotels, you'll see this on bathrobes, shampoo bottles, hand lotion bottles and even the occasional pair of bathrobe slippers. In restaurants, you'll find after-dinner chocolates, after-dinner mints, business cards and matchbooks adorning the restaurant's name and information. Over the course of one weekend, you'll probably go home with something like the items listed above.

The International Hotel, Motel and Restaurant Show is an opportunity to meet other people from your industry and to those who cater to making your industry optimal. This is a chance to see what new promotional giveaways are available and what can help promote your name and likeness.

Although the show takes place in November at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City (November 10-13) use this time to register, book a flight/hotel and to prepare for networking. By doing so, you'll be sure to gain awareness of your brand in time for 2013.

MRKET NY

There's a very good chance that hip summer fashions will inspire and pave the way for fashions of every season in 2013.

So there is no surprise that MRKET NY is already claiming their New York Festival, taking place on July 22-July 24 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City, the global tradeshow of 2013.

The MRKET Spring/Summer 2013 is a global fashion trade show for discerning menswear brands. It is one of the most popular and serious of menswear tradeshows among media and networkers. The tradeshow brings about the best in footwear, classic clothing, contemporary clothing, outerwear and accessories and is sure to give people ideas of what to expect from men's fashion in the coming year.

We've recently added Next Level Apparel and will be adding American Apparel apparel very soon. Come take a look on the Motivators website.

Microsoft's Final Appearance at CES

December 29, 2011 13:03 by brandon

We're still weeks away from the January 10, 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), and yet it's been making headlines for months.  First, we learned that popular men's television channel Spike TV was named an official partner.  Then, we discovered that video game giant Nintendo is slated to make an appearance at the upcoming trade show.  Today's news, however, is not so positive.

The Washington Post reports that 2012 will be Microsoft's final year at CES.  Microsoft, which has been the show's "anchor company" for years, has decided to pull out after this year's show because "it no longer fits its needs and its timing does not always mesh with its product announcements."

Microsoft's announcement is a particularly huge blow because, according to Wired, the corporation has delivered the keynote at the event for 14 years.  It begs the question:  Now that Microsoft has decided to not appear after 2012, who will take over?  Some speculate that Samsung, which has a dominant seat in the world of Android, may be a good fit.

Others wonder if Amazon, Google or Apple may take over the keynote.

No matter what, the promotional electronics trade show will go on!  As Rotman Epps told Wired, "CES is bigger than Microsoft — it has become the most important place for partners in the tech ecosystem to connect and do business."

2012 Biotechnology Showcase 2012

December 28, 2011 16:13 by Nick

Do you have a longtime fascination with science or hoping to help make the world a progressively forward one?

If you've answered "Yes" for any of the following, then you should consider bringing yourself (and your New Year's Eve resolutions) to San Francisco, CA.

The 2012 Biotechnology Showcase, held this coming year at the Parc 55 Wyndham, will take place from January 9 - January 11. These three days are filled with presentations from the brightest minds in the science industry, debuting their findings and innovations to rooms full of private investors, public investors and pharmaceutical executives. The hope is that an idea will be backed financially (and otherwise) to become the next promotional health item. Who knows, in a few years, it might be sold on the Motivators website.

If you're an investor or a company that has an idea you want to share, visit the 2012 Bioctechnology Showcase website
